Following graduation, I was accepted into the American Pavilion Student Filmmaker Program and interned at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2007 where I competed in the Adobe Real Ideas Studio documentary competition. I remained in France later that year after being accepted into the Teaching Assistant Program where I worked as an English teacher in Normandie until 2008. Then in 2010, I became a recipient of the “Carte Compétences et Talent” (Skills & Talent Card) Visa which allowed me to return to France and continue my work on developing a TV series called Expats, about a group of young Anglophones living in Paris. Since my arrival in Paris, I’ve been working freelance as a production assistant and editor for several production companies in Paris. This year, I am currently organizing the production of my first short film in French called L’Américain, which was inspired by my friendship with a French girl as well as the work I did in my FRE 320 and FRE 499 courses at U of A.
