I earned a Masters in Francophone Studies, and a Masters in French Literature, and then received a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. I loved studying in the College of Humanities because it provides interdisciplinary opportunities. For instance, my research includes French culture and language, second-language pedagogy, digital and media literacy as well as linguistics and semiotics knowledge which all enriched my work. This allowed me to look at my data with different perspectives, and in a more critical and diverse ways. Today, as a senior lecturer in French, I try to bring these competences to my students in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving through activities that are centered around the notion of intercultural awareness and diversity.
