I moved to Paris right after graduation to become an English assistant. Wanting to stay after the year was up, and knowing it is difficult to work in Paris on a student visa, I went back to Arizona and asked my dad, who is Italian, to give me all his paperwork (birth certificate, passport etc.) so I could go to the Italian Consulate in L.A. Coming back to Paris I struggled for almost a year teaching English in schools as an assistant and tutoring, then working for an international law firm as a legal assistant to improve my French. I wanted to go back to school to get a master's degree so I applied for a first year Master's Program in Political Science at Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne and was accepted. I then applied for a second year Professional Master's Program in International Relations at Paris II Pantheon-Assas University. I graduated with honors in September, 2012. This program requires its students to obtain an internship second semester. I was able to get an internship at both UNESCO and OECD, but chose OECD because not only do they pay a stipend, there were also more work opportunities after the internship was over. I ended up staying at the OECD and now work as a consultant in the Education Directorate with a subdivision of Programme for International Student Assessment.
