Join La Table Francophone on Thursday, February 2 to learn about the French holiday La Chandeleur! Called Candlemas in English, this religious holiday is exactly 40 days after Christmas, but it also has origins in an older pre-Christian holiday celebrating the harvest and marking the midway point of winter. Nowadays, it's a day where families and friends make and eat crêpes together!
Come to the Modern Languages Building, room 578 from 10-11am and learn more about the history of the holiday, its symbolism, and why crêpes were chosen. There may even be some crêpes to try...
