Embrace the Culture of Couture
Fashion communicates culture and trends emerge from all over the world. As you consider your language requirements, courses you are already taking in French or Italian can get you on your way toward a major or minor. Prior experience in the Italian or French language is not required. Study abroad opportunities in France or Italy will further enhance your fashion studies and count toward your degree credits. You can choose to study fashion with a major in Applied Humanities with a Fashion Studies emphasis or Fashion Industry’s Science and Technology (FITS).

We are integrating 21st century skills in our classes. You will gain insight and learn the history of fashion through writing and visual communications, garment knowledge and important French and Italian designers. By pursuing a degree in French or Italian combined with your degree in fashion, you will gain cultural knowledge and valuable perspectives to help you stand out from others in this competitive field and navigate the fashion industry in France and Italy today.
At the University of Arizona, you can successfully pursue a dual major path in fashion and French or Italian for the same time and tuition as a single major.
