My research interests evolve around Francophone Literature (African and Caribbean), postcolonial literature and children in wars and genocide. My Ph.D dissertation focused on the representation of children (and other cadets sociaux who can be perceived as representing young postcolonial societies struggling to exist in a world they were not prepared to face but persisting against all odds to change their destiny) in Francophone Literature of West and Central Africa.
My private time, I love to travel, playing soccer. and volleyball. I enjoy some cooking time but nothing equals the time I spend with my daughter Marie-Paule. Before coming to University of Arizona, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Saint Lawrence University NY and Northern Illinois University.
