Sixth Annual All-Night Reading of Dante's "Inferno"

When
2 to 3 p.m., April 17 to 18, 2014

This year, Prof. Fabian Alfie will again participate in the All-Night Reading of Dante's "Inferno" held at St. Philips in the Hills Episcopal Church as part of its Maundy Thursday observance.  This is the sixth year that St. Philips has arranged this event.

As in previous years, the event will begin at 9:00pm on Maundy Thursday, 17 April, and will go through the night, ending at 10:00am on Good Friday, 18 April.  Each half hour there will be a tolling of the bells, followed by a period of silent meditation, a musical interpretation, the reading of a canto of the "Inferno," and more silent meditation.  Throughout the night the entire "Inferno" will be read.

Fabian Alfie has been involved in the event since it began six years ago.  This year he will be reading the first canto of "Inferno" at 9:00pm on Thursday

In anticipation of the event, Prof. Alfie gave an interview with Bill Buckmaster on his radio show on April 15, 2014.
